When you’re Syracuse football, the only way to go is up. The Orange are 7-28 under Greg Robinson and a lack of results this season would have to spell doom for Robinson’s career at Syracuse. On a WVU-related note, the Orange have dropped six straight to WVU; no other time in the series dating back to 1945 has one school won more than four in a row. And the football program at SU is now running at a financial deficit.
Probably the last thing you want to see in this situation are massive injuries in spring drills, but that is exactly what Robinson and gang dealt with this spring. Even the spring game was cut short with a 20-13 victory by the offense. Fans saw little of the first-teamers, and running backs Delone Carter and Curtis Brinkley sat out completely.
