NCAA Second Round Sunday Picks
23 March 2008For the fourth time, lines are provided by PinnacleSports.com “for entertainment purposes only.”
Villanova (-5.5) vs. Siena: One of two 12 vs. 13 games of the day. Since a higher seeded team hasn’t won in Tampa yet, I might as well go with the Saints. Siena 56, Villanova 54.
Texas (-6.5) vs. Miami: The Longhorns are way too talented for the Hurricanes. Texas 86, Miami 74.
Tennessee (-4) vs. Butler:The oddsmakers are obviously scared off by Tennessee’s first round struggle. Butler is talented, but if Tennessee plays their A game then they are more than 4 points better. Tennessee 77, Butler 70.
Western Kentucky (-5.5) vs. San Diego: Another 12-13 game in Tampa, I told you how I’m rolling in these. San Diego 96, Western Kentucky 93.
Georgetown (-4.5) vs. Davidson:If there’s a team in the country that can shut down Stephen Curry, it’s the Hoyas. Georgetown 61, Davidson 47.
Memphis (-9) vs. Mississippi State: I look for the Bulldogs to give Memphis a very tough time, but I’ll come just short of picking the upset. Memphis 74, Mississippi State 73.
Louisville (-7) vs. Oklahoma: The Sooners aren’t getting a lot of credit, this should be another incredibly close game. Close doesn’t count in March though. Louisville 66, Oklahoma 64.
North Carolina (-11) vs. Arkansas: I think Arkansas has the athletes to hang with Carolina and could give them fits with their defensive intensity. Not sure if enough guys can step up offensively for the Hogs though. North Carolina 74, Arkansas 69.
